In this beautiful season of lights, treats, presents, and more, let's not forget the true reason why we celebrate this special holiday: our Savior, Jesus Christ.
This week as you prepare for Christmas day, think back on that remarkable event thousands of years ago of the birth of the Son of God. Think of His young, willing mother, Mary, and His gentle, mortal father, Joseph. Picture the shepherds in the field and the wise men traveling far. Imagine what it was like to see an angel and hear the glorious news of the birth of the long-prophesied Savior of the world. There is so much we can learn from these individuals, but most importantly, think of what Jesus Christ has done for you and how you can become more like Him.
Think of what this Christmas story truly means to you and how this knowledge of His birth and life has affected you personally. He is the King of kings, the Lord of lords. He truly is the Savior of all mankind who was born in the most humble of circumstances. There is no way to gain greater peace and joy in your life than by following Jesus Christ.
Take some time this week to read the Christmas story found in the books of Matthew and Luke with your own family, or watch this incredible video depicting the glorious birth of Christ. Remember the true reason for the Christmas season. Merry Christmas!
