#1 3 Lessons I Learned In My First Year of Business

Updated: Mar 9

Welcome to the Podcast! This is my first podcast episode and I thought, why not brake the ice and start off with sharing 3 lessons I learned in my first year in business!

LESSON 1: START MESSY

Just start! I know it's so tempting to wait to start until everything is perfect and feels ready, but if you wait until everything is perfect you will never start! Start with imperfections and start messy. Everything will work itself out.

LESSON 2: YOU DON'T NEED A DEGREE

Have you ever felt like an imposter? Have you felt like at any moment someone is going to call you out? I TOTALLY felt like this! I didn't go to school for photography or for business. I went to college in Idaho and graduated with my bachelors degree in Interior Design. The main thought that would go through my head when I was charging my photography clients was, "who am I to charge for a service I didn't get a degree in?" This mental block held me back for a long time! You need to break through this mental block so you can serve the people who need you.

LESSON 3: YOU HAVE SOMETHING THAT CAN MAKE YOU MONEY

Whether it is teaching people how to eat healthy, how not yell at your kids, how to eat gluten free, or how to make hair bows, there is something that you know NOW that you can use to make money. You don't have to go back to school or buy 20 more courses. Use what you have now to make money.

I hope that you learn from my mistakes and build the most amazing business! And, let me know which one of these lessons resonated with you the most!
