Recently I have been pondering this scripture in Proverbs 3:5-6 that talks about trusting in God and relying on Him. I love that we have a Father in Heaven who is aware of us, who cares about us, and who can help us in all things!
5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
While it is true that we can and need to trust God in all things, sometimes we forget that we have to do our part too! He will direct our paths, but that means we still have to walk it! We have to decide if we are going to take a step forward in faith, or if we are going to remain planted where we are.
When I served a mission for my church in Argentina, I learned a phrase that they use a lot there, "si Dios quiere," meaning if God wants it to happen, it will. Often I hear people here talk like that too, like "if God wants me to do X, Y, or Z, then He will make it happen." As if we don't have to put in any work and it will just happen! No! He is certainly directing us, but we have to move forward and take those steps of faith so that He has something to direct!
God cannot make us walk the path. We must choose for ourselves to take the step and He will be right there with us guiding and directing us. We can trust Him to lead us, but don't use Him as an excuse not to act. That part, my friend, is on you.
You are confident, successful and have so much potential. You got this, girl!
